Final Essay

South central today is really tagged up, it has violence but not like how it used to. The good thing about South central is the weather. South Central can improve by having less tagging on the walls floors etc. I don’t really like living in South Central. I don’t like going to school in South Central because they don’t expect much and because of the people.

The first event that has made South Central what it is today is the Gang History. It is important because that is why there is all of this violence. What i know about this event is that black gangs started to defend themselves from white gangs. Its important because they blame the black people sometimes and its not fair. I chose this because it seemed like a good topic, and because it got my attention.

The second event that has made South Central what it is today is the Crack Epidemic. Its important because of that people are addicted, and some “crack babies” have issues. I know that the person or people responsible for this was the C.I.A. This event is important because they just sold the crack to people in South Central to fund a war! I chose this event because it got my attention on why they did it.

The third event on what made South Central what it is today is the L.A Riots. This is important because of that there are pieces of land that don’t have anything because they never built nothing on there. I know that the L.A Riots where a bad time they burnt a whole street to the ground. It is important because of the reason why the riots started. I chose this because of the reason why the Riots started.

These events made South Central look bad, and they really messed it up. South Central will probably change by not having that much violence. Gang history its how the Black panthers started and what happened after the F.B.I ended it. Crack Epidemic is how crack came to South Central and who was the one responsible for it. The L.A Riots was when there was police brutality involved and that got people mad.

Community Walk Reflection

1) The broken window theory is when something is not taken care of and other people see that  so they just keep messing it up.

2)something that i saw uncared for was the place across the street from the retirement home. another place i saw that was uncared for was on 109 and sampedro . infront of the home there was trash all over and there was a trash can like right there empty. on the other side there was no side walk it was all dirty looking or abandoned .

3) i saw the community had some good houses and they were not dirty they were cool.  there were also dirty crapy  looking houses that weren’t cared for. the businesses were dirty they werent like wow , they were like uhhh. this says that people in the community dont care about it at all.
